About Mack's Inn Resort

Mack's Inn Resort is located in the heart of Island Park, Idaho. The vintage resort is nestled on the shores of the Henry’s Fork of the Snake River, and is only 25 minutes from Yellowstone National Park.

Mack’s Inn Resort provides rustic lodging in a family-friendly setting. The Resort is also known for outdoor adventures. Float trips, kayaking, fishing, canoeing, hiking, snowmobiling, cross-country skiing, and so much more, are available for all ages.

Mack’s Inn Resort is located five-miles downstream from Big Springs, the headwaters of the Henry’s Fork of the Snake River. The natural, crystal-clear stream has a daily water flow of over 120 million gallons. Waters flow into 75 miles of fishing streams and two freshwater lakes. Island Park offers various levels of mountain and river adventures that attracts all ages.

Island Park, Idaho has "America's longest main street” and is located in the Snake River Highlands bordering Montana and Wyoming. The “main street” is 36 miles long. The breathtaking area is known for its rolling, pine-clad forests, and is an ancient volcanic Caldera. It's located between Ashton, Idaho to the south, and Montana state border to the north. Island Park is also located only 25 minutes from the West Entrance of Yellowstone National Park, at West Yellowstone, Montana.

Mack’s Inn Resort dates back to the early nineteen hundreds.

The resort was established at its current location around 1914-1916 by William H. Mack. During the summer months, the Mack family focused on construction and expansion. Their winters were spent in the Snake River Valley planning for the next season.

For 75 years, Mack’s Inn continued to grow with more buildings, cabins and units. Then in 1989, a tragic fire destroyed the Mack’s Inn Lodge, a beloved landmark. The loss of the lodge was a great disappointment for the local residents and vacationers.
